Chelsea White, Photographer

AS A PERSON

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have always had a sense for adventure and trying new things. I live for visual feelings; seeing something so amazing you can't always explain it.

I graduated from Robert Morris University in May 2015 with a Bachelors degree in Media Arts. Then I continued my education at Full Sail University, where I got my Associates in Music Production and Masters in Creative Writing by October of 2018.

AS AN ARTIST

My go-to quote is from Annie Leibovitz, she said "It doesn't turn off and on...it's on all the time". That's how I see the world. When I see the sunshine reveal itself around a building or a group of friends laughing together, my mind frames the picture. There's more to it than just point and shoot. Photography to me is seeing things in a different light or seeing the final image long before you take the picture.

I know that no matter where I go it will continue to stay "on" and that's why I'm a photographer. For as long as I can remember, I was always the person in the room taking photographs. I aim to capture moments- from the very meaningful, to the everyday stillness, and all that's in between.

I find that I am pulled towards people. Taking someone's photograph essentially captures a piece of their soul; if only for a moment you may see who they really are. That's what photography is to me; a chance to share a piece of my soul.
