I Ate a Bowl of Ramen Today, and the Other Reason I Refuse To Restart My "Diet"

Long title, short post.

It happened again, the whole “New Year, New Me” mentality. The idea that you should have a set of goals to reach, bad habits you need to break, and a new perspective on life.

However, for me that’s very unrealistic. For someone who is a human being, in their mid-twenties, with mood swings so varying they should name a rollercoaster after me, it’s not a attainable idea.

So, as 2019 rolled in I had a positive attitude about things I was going to do, but for me it’s most important to take it one week, day, moment at a time.

I have set up goals for what will happen over the next elevenish months but they aren’t all mandatory. So, as I set out on my weightloss journey I will definitely come across days where it’s ”easier”, “more convenient”, or even “preferred” to grab a bowl of ramen.

It it doesn’t mean I failed myself. It just means the next time I get up to work out, maybe I’ll go a little harder.

Starting over isn’t always the answer, sometimes self-awareness is powerful enough to continue the journey.

So, keep going with any positive changes you may be struggling with. Hell, we can do it together.

Hope to see you at the end of 2019. We’ll see how we all ended up.

Chelsea

Have a relaxing weekend. - Hades
