Things I “Should” Be Doing...

What I’ve realized over the past six days is a momumemental realization for me. Wait for it...

I’m a procrastinator.

Now, don‘t get me wrong I‘ve known this tidbit of information long before Senioritis was a thing. Senior year of high school it was common to use that as the excuse, but in reality that’s just how I was/am. I would and could wait until the last minute and still bust out some of the most creative and detailed pieces of work, while still managing to get good grades and responses. So, why change what wasn’t broken?

Well, now here I am, twenty-five, having had been a senior twice, (high school and college) and have gotten a Master‘s degree, yet my procrastinating habits have not changed. If anything they’ve gotten worse.

What makes this a realization for me is that I would constantly make excuses as to why I was this way. But, over the past six days the biggest excuse I had went out the window.

It has become a hinderenance on all the things I “should” be doing or have had done by now. I’ve spent the past six days filled with “free” time but only a small amount of edited pictures to show for it, and a hand full of phone calls made and a few emails sent.

How can I possibly turn things around so drastically now that this realization has created a wall I must learn how to climb over?

For me, it starts right away. There will be continuous “Day 1” moments. Where I finally get the habits I’ve been trying to have since January 1st, 2018, but have failed over and over again to make just that, habits.

I have the mentality that even if nothing changes, by the end of the year everything will be different. The world continues to move around me.

So, to the things I “should” have had done. I’m working on it. Working to do them more consistently and make deadlines. That’s all I can do for now.

So for now, I’ll be back once they’re done.
