Me? Yeah, you could say I listen to a lot of music..

Dear Spotify,
I would like a recount. I'm sure I've listened to many more hours since this post and we’re still in 2018.
Love,
Avid music listener, Chelsea
For this week's Sounds From My Bedroom Floor, I decided to include the Spotify made playlist, my "Top Songs 2018".
I definitely see me listening to these select 100 songs far past the end of this year. It's also very telling of the kind of year I had, the first 5-6 songs are in another language. Attempting to learn a new language was on my "Year 25" bucket list. One of my favorite ways to do this was through music. The sudden realization you understood a line of a song was always refreshing. Now, while I'm sure my roommates can recite a line or twenty for the sheer amount of times I've played these songs, they probably don't care to learn the translations the way I did. The three main languages (Korean, Spanish, and French) are all languages I have learned or am attempting to strengthen continually. Branching out and listening to music I don't understand because of the language is a challenge I happily took in 2018.
The rest of the playlist falls under a pop playlist, with a hand fulls of other genres. A large portion also speak to the kind of emotions I went through this year. I think I felt every kind of emotion over this wild year. I travelled the most I ever had, I strengthened and dismissed quite a few relationships this year, and was inspired to do a few things thanks to songs on this playlist. These songs have fed my soul and kept me sane.
I do have to say, I am surprised of some that made it, ones I'm sure I just left on in the background, versus ones that I can recite backwards. This playlist ultimately has shown me that I love music immensely and that genre, language, or length are not boundary's I allowed to get in my way.
So, here's to 2018 and all the music that spoke to me throughout. If you need some inspiring, fun, and diverse music, give this playlist a listen:

Thank you, see you next year!
