Pandemi Did It?

I thought I went deeper down the rabbit hole, maybe I'm not even in wonderland.

My 2021 Spotify wrapped came and went! And so did my awareness of what month it was. So, here we are again, late to posting about my musical taste for the year.

If you've read any of my previous blog wrap ups then you know this next statement is going to be a shocker...my playlist was less than 30% Kpop! It's still very 50 plus foreign language, but a few things might've contributed to this big change. Post pandemic I found myself back at camp, where 'Today's Top Hits' ruled my airwaves, and my day to day moods differed in a wider range overall.

My top two songs were actually surprising, number one being "LazyBaby". I mean fair the title was me half of the time, and the lyrics the other half.

Like, "I don't even care, I don't give a f*ck." Me all 2021. But then there's my number two..."Butter" by the boys, Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS). Where I have a handful of songs from them on my wrap up this year, I wouldn't think this would be my second most played song. Maybe it falls under my 'background sound" category, but even then I didn't think I'd played that song that much (plus it was released until almost halfway through the year).

But Spotify has the numbers on that not me. So, surprised or not there's my top two.

The rest of the list kind of doesn't show much variation or surprise (aside from one song from 2014 making the list), so maybe that's why I didn't find much urgency in posting this years written wrap up. Or maybe why I don't have much to say.
